Obituary: Zeck Raney

Zeck Willie Raney of Cottonwood passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014.

Zeck was born on June 29, 1928 in Lonn, New Mexico to Joe Willie and Tishia Evdoshia (Marchbanks) Raney. As a young man he fought in WW II in the Merchant Marines.

Later he did a variety of things including working in a grocery warehouse, as a truck driver, a traveling salesman, a farmer and a backhoe operator.

Zeck belonged to the Gospel of Faith Church in Ash Fork, Arizona. He loved backhoe work, traveling and just being outdoors. Zeck was a very caring and loving husband and father and he will be greatly missed.

Zeck is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Rosalie Raney of Ash Fork, Arizona; his sons, Gary Alan Raney of Prescott Valley, Arizona, Jeffery Lynn (Cathy) Raney of Ash Fork, Arizona, Phillip Kyle (Bonnie) Raney of Ash Fork, Arizona, William Troy (Kelei) Scroggins of Avondale, Arizona and Michael Lloyd (Desiree) Scroggins of Desert Hills, Arizona; his daughters, Sherry Rebecca (Keith) Drumheller, of Lott, Texas and Connie Elizabeth (Garry) McDonald of Cottonwood, Arizona; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Gospel of Faith Church, 43750 Bullock Road, Ash Fork, Arizona.

The family has requested no flowers but donations may be sent to Rosalie Raney at P.O. Box 3111, Cottonwood, AZ 86326.
