Guest Column: Williams Animal Action Group vaccination clinic a great way to keep animals healthy
Mark your calendars, pet owners, for the April 6 Rabies Vaccination Clinic. This is the 28th annual clinic sponsored by the Williams Animal Action Group (WAAG). It will again be at the Williams Rodeo Barn from noon to 3 p.m.
Dr. Rob Moore of the Agassiz Animal Clinic will provide rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats at the low cost of $10 each. This includes the rabies vaccination certificate and matching numbered tag.
Remember, all pets must be healthy, 12 weeks or older, not pregnant or nursing young. Dr. Moore will be unable to treat sick animals - do not bring them to the clinic. Also, all dogs must be on leashes and cats in carriers. WAAG has leashes and carriers to loan out onsite.
The city of Williams will have dog licenses available for your easy renewal. Please bring proof of spay or neuter to receive the altered animal discount.
Does your pet need a rabies vaccination? All dogs four months or older are required to be vaccinated. Check your current rabies certificate. It has an expiration date right on it. All first-time rabies shots are valid for one year. After that, the booster shots are good for three years. Pets that received three-year booster vaccinations at our 2010 clinic are due for another shot.
WAAG is honored to serve our community by providing affordable rabies vaccinations, preventing the chance of a local outbreak. Preventive care is always the best.
So mark your calendar for April 6 from noon to 3 p.m. for the 28th annual WAAG Rabies Vaccination Clinic.
