Chamber welcomes Raecke full time
Alicia Raecke began duties as full time events coordinator last month
The Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce's events coordinator, Alicia Raecke, recently transitioned from working part time to full time.
Raecke started working part time at the chamber about a year ago. She started working full time after graduating last month with a degree in graphic design from Northern Arizona University.
Raecke is in charge of planning the events and doing the marketing for the chamber. This includes contacting sponsors and vendors, creating advertisements, posters and programs and arranging insurance and liquor licenses for events.
"I like that I get some freedom with it and that I get to utilize my graphic design constantly with it," Raecke said of her position. "Plus it's really good PR experience, learning how to work with people and talk to people, writing letters, all kinds of stuff that is useful for any kind of a position."
Raecke also said she enjoys the people she works with and the variety of the job.
"I get to do all kinds of stuff," she said. "Every day is different."
Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce President Gioia Goodrum said she is "delighted" to have Raecke working full time.
"(I'm) looking forward to working with her and all of the great things she's going to do," Goodrum said.
