David Drummond is featured artist for June at The Gallery in Williams

Reception will be offered 6-8 p.m. Saturday

WILLIAMS, Ariz. - The Gallery in Williams is pleased to announce that nationally acclaimed water color artist David Drummond will be the featured artist for the month of June.

Drummond has made a name for himself as one of the Southwest's most recognized watercolorists, with dramatic landscapes a specialty. He is widely recognized for his highly detailed and expressive paintings of Lake Powell, which has inspired him for over twenty years. Drummond's incredibly detailed paintings depict the lake in all its moods, from glassy morning reflections to thundering waterfalls during storms.

Drummond's numerous and prestigious awards include Best of Show in Miniatures, Masterworks, NM, third place in the Artist's Magazine Exhibition with "Morning South of Dangling Rope," and recently, a first place in watercolors at the International Miniature Art Show Exhibition in January 2012 in Tampa, Fla. In 2007, Drummond's work was chosen for the annual White House Christmas card.

Drummond's work will be featured on the cover of Watercolor Artist Magazine in August. Look for the magazine in stores in early July. The Gallery in Williams will be hosting a reception for Drummond 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at The Gallery in Williams, 309 W. Route 66. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Drummond and view his wonderful work firsthand.

Drummond's tenure at The Gallery in Williams also coincides with the inaugural Williams Second Saturday Art Walk, which will be held 6-9 p.m. June 9. Many venues for art will be open at this special time for the Art Walk in Williams.
