Fire damages home in Parks
Damage estimated at $35,000
PARKS, Ariz. - An attic fire on Feb. 4 was quickly controlled by firefighters from the Ponderosa Fire Department (PFD). Residents, who were home at the time, smelled smoke in their home and called 911.
On arrival firefighters saw smoke coming from the roof and attic. Ten firefighters from PFD responded with two engines, two water tenders and one engine from Camp Navajo Fire Department. The fire was limited to the roof and attic, but did cause approximately $35,000 worth of damage.
Fire officials remind residents to regularly clean and inspect their chimney.
