Labor Day Music Festival, parade, and rodeo this weekend in Williams

WILLIAMS, Ariz. - The Route 66 Labor Day Music Festival is coming to the Williams Visitors Center (Babbit-Polson Warehouse) Stage Friday and Saturday. Enjoy a wide variety of music as 16 different bands take the stage over two days.

The bands range from blues (the Tommy Dukes Band) and rockabilly (Cadillac Angels), to southern rock (Mogollon) and country (Ray Scott). Mogollon headlines Friday night followed by Ray Scott headlining Saturday night. Scott has numerous songs that have made their way up to the top of the country charts.

Gates open on Friday at 4 p.m. and close at 11 p.m. On Saturday the stage will be rockin' all day from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. There will be an after party both nights with more live music at the Winchester Steak House from 11 p.m.-2 a.m.

The Music Festival is being hosted by Brandyn Tullis of the Museum Club and Clay McCauslin of 92.9 KAFF Country Radio. Both Tullis and McCauslin love the city of Williams, and felt bringing a show of this breed to the community would be a great way to help bring visitors in to town for the extended Labor Day weekend, as well as excite residents into partaking in a great hometown activity.

Tickets are $20 when purchased in advance, children 5 and under are free, and are available at the Williams Visitor Center, KAFF Country Radio Studios, and the Museum Club. The Williams Visitor Center is located at 200 W. Railroad Ave. KAFF Country Radio Studios is located at 1117 W. Route 66 on the western side of Flagstaff. The Museum Club is at 3404 E. Route 66 on the eastern side of Flagstaff. Tickets will also be available the day of the show for $25 each; one ticket is good for admission to both days.

Rodeo

Take a break and give your ears a rest at the Williams Labor Day Rodeo presented by Slash M Rodeo Co.

Rodeo events will kick off on Saturday for the two-day event, and this year the Women's Professional Rodeo will be the highlight of the weekend.

The rodeo will include barrel racing, breakaway, team roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc, bareback riding and the ever popular wild horse race and bull riding.

There is still time to be a sponsor of "Williams' rodeo." Sponsors are what make this celebrated cowboy tradition a success, and individuals have the option to choose their level of sponsorship.

Gates open each day at 11 a.m. and tickets are available at the gates. General Admission is $10 and kids 5-years-old and under are free.

Location: The Williams Rodeo Grounds at 800 Rodeo Rd. There will be free parking at the grounds. For more information or to be a rodeo sponsor, call Scott McDaniel at (520) 403-3309.
