Obituary: Julia L. Apodaca
Julia L. Apodaca, 83, of Clarkdale, passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011.
She was born Jan. 9, 1928 in Williams, Ariz., the daughter of Panfilo and Teofila Lizardi.
She went to Williams schools. Mrs. Apodaca worked for the Navajo Army Depot in Bellemont.
She cherished her family, her churches, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cottonwood and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Williams. She enjoyed cake decorating, bowling, cards, dominos, bingo, grandmothers club and the rosary group.
Mrs. Apodaca was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Ernesto and her daughter Palmira Apodaca.
She leaves daughters, Patricia Maas (Fred) of Phoenix, Irene Hunkler (John) of Flagstaff and Jeanette Apodaca of Phoenix; brothers Carlos Lizardi and Joe Lizardi, both of Tucson; sisters Victoria Vargas (Gus) of Clarkdale and Mary Encinas of Hollister, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A visitation was held on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10 a.m., Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial was at 2 p.m. in Williams Cemetery.
