Strong start for lady golfers

The Elephant Rocks lady golfers opened the NAWGA Team Play season at Verde Santa Fe April 27 against Prescott Golf & Country Club. After round one, our local team is tied for second place gross with Prescott Lakes, just one-half point behind Oakcreek. The Elephant Rocks team is also tied for first place net with Oakcreek and Quailwood Greens, just one-half point ahead of Talking Rock Ranch. There are nine teams participating in this northern Arizona Women's Golf competition, and the matches will conclude in August. Janet Cothren is the Elephant Rocks team captain and NAWGA Team Coordinator for the season. Pictured left to right is Janet Cothren, Luanne Lea, Sharon Gibson, and Suzie Hite.
