Miss Route 66 hits the road to attend 24th annual Fun Run
WILLIAMS - April Zicopoulos, Miss Williams Route 66 2010, and and Crystal Heiser, Miss Williams Route 66 2009, attended the 24th Annual Fun Run held in Seligman on April 29.
Both girls helped with registration, had many photo opportunities with classic car owners and were ambassadors for the city of Williams and the Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce.
Many cars lined the main street in Seligman. Zicopoulos and Heiser also participated in the evening parade riding in the Snow Cap Mobile. After the parade both danced the night away at the Snow Cap.
Both girls had the pleasure of meeting Route 66 icon Angel Delgadillo along with travel writer and humorist Roger Naylor and photographer Larry Lindahl. Naylor is currently writing about Route 66.
According to Pimi Bennett, Miss Route 66 coordinator, both Lindahl and Naylor were interested in attending the Cool Country Cruise-in held in August in conjunction with the Eighth Annual Miss Williams Route 66 Pageant.
Bennett added that the Fun Run was well attended.
"There were well over 100 classic cars on display," she said. "Both girls enjoyed their experience and have made many new friends."
Bennett thanked Chardell Bennett, Jimmy Swanson, Alexandria Andrade and Chase MacArthur for participating and helping at the Fun Run.
