WILLIAMS - After a practice round and preliminary round after preliminary round, Braden Heap spelled pedicure to win the Williams Middle School spelling bee.

The middle school bee took place Jan. 26. A day earlier Ryan Bright came out on top in the elementary bee by spelling penalty correctly.

The elementary finalists were:

First place - Ryan Bright, 5th grade

Second place - Athena Kennelly, 5th grade

Third place - Cooper Heap, 3rd grade

Fourth place - Rylie Heap, 5th grade

Fifth place - Tania Morales, 5th grade

The middle school finalists were:

First place - Braden Heap

Second place - Sergio Cardenas

Third place - Josh Dodson,

Fourth place - Jordan Jaime

Fifth place - Adam Young
