Aug. 16, 1945

• Twenty-two Girl Scouts, members of Troops 1 and 2, accompanied by four adults, went to the Buggeln Ranch near Grand Canyon Tuesday to spend a full week at the annual camp. Transportation for equipment and supplies was provided by a Kaibab Forest Service truck and the city truck, while private cars were available for taking the girls out.

50 years ago

Aug. 18, 1960

• Mrs. Helen Pearson, news editor of the Williams News, is on vacation.

35 years ago

Aug. 21, 1975

• The Williams City Council recently approved the appointment of John Miller to fill the unexpired term of Robert Ison. Councilman Ison resigned because of moving to Flagstaff. Miller is an employee of Mountain Bell.
