WILLIAMS - While Williams has enjoyed sunny skies recently, snow is predicted Friday when Disney's "A Christmas Carol" Train Tour arrives. However, before breaking out those winter parkas, know the white, fluffy stuff will be a result of flakes created by snow machines. The artificial snow will blanket the area of the train to set the tone for the latest " A Christmas Carol" movie.

A special train promoting the upcoming 3-D film will remain at the Grand Canyon Railway® Depot Friday and Saturday. The train departs Sunday for Santa Fe, N.M. The train first stopped in Los Angeles, Calif. May 22. The 24-week, 40-city tour concludes Nov. 1 in New York's Grand Central Terminal.

Disney's "A Christmas Carol" opens in theaters Nov. 6 in Disney Digital 3D and in IMAX 3D. Starring Jim Carrey and directed by Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Robert Zemeckis, the movie captures the essence of the classic Charles Dickens' tale in a groundbreaking, performance-capture 3D motion picture event.

Ebeneezer Scrooge (Carrey) begins the holiday with his usual miserly contempt, barking at his faithful clerk (Gary Oldman) and his cheery nephew (Colin Firth). Scrooge makes a turn around when he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come, who take him on an eye-opening journey, revealing truths Scrooge is reluctant to face. In the end he must open his heart to undo years of ill will before it's too late.

According to promotion officials, the train will make its stop at the Grand Canyon Railway Depot for its three-day stay and offer a number of free exhibits for Arizona visitors. Williams Mayor John Moore will be on hand for a ribbon cutting May 29. Attractions for the stop includes behind-the-scenes movie exhibits, authentic artifacts from the Charles Dickens Museum of London, costumes and props from the new film and a sneak peak of the actual film thanks to an inflatable 3-D theater that will be erected on site for the event. Organizers plan to inflate the theater tomorrow. The depot itself will be decorated with Christmas décor, thousands of lights and will even host carolers for the event. Snow machines will also be used to blanket the area with snow.

Officials with Radio Disney will be on hand to ask kids to enter for a chance to become a local representative for their Movie Surfer segment. Hometown Movie Surfers will get a chance to appear on the Disney Channel by filming their own Movie Surfer segment. Kids can register to win the contest by going online to www.christmascaroltraintour.com.
