Special Olympians bring home awards
Gold, bronze and silver brought to Williams
WILLIAMS - Athletes representing the Special Olympics Team recently competed in the State Summer Game Competitions April 30-May 2. Coaches Deniz Chavez and Pattie Jackson congratulate their team for doing a fantastic job at the competitions.
On April 30 Thomas Markham earned a bronze medal for the standing long jump. On May 1 Bohannon Irving earned a fourth place ribbon for the 50-meter dash.
On May 2 Alicia Wilson brought home a silver medal for the running long jump and a gold medal for the 100-meter dash. Santia Rodriguez brought home a gold medal for the running long jump and a gold medal for the 100-meter dash. Markham brought home a gold medal for the 100-meter dash. Irving brought home a silver medal in the shot put.
Karime Galaviz brought home a bronze medal for the softball throw and a silver medal in the 100-meter wheelchair race. Mark Konkel brought home a gold medal in the 100-meter dash and a gold medal for his three-meter 29-centimeter jump in the running long jump.
