Williams officials will soon begin looking for a new chamber of commerce leader following the resignation of current Chief Executive Officer and President Donna Eastman-Liddle. Eastman-Liddle, who has represented the city for eight years, tendered her resignation last week. In an e-mail sent to city officials and members of various Williams-based organizations, Eastman-Liddle said she recently accepted a position as a financial advisor with the Edward Jones Company in the Phoenix area.

"I have absolutely loved my position here at the Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce, and have always felt so privileged to work for such a dynamic and wonderful city," Eastman-Liddle said in the Feb. 20 e-mail. "But now the time has come to move on, and I have been offered and accepted a job with Edward Jones as a financial advisor in the Scottsdale/northeast Phoenix area. For the ninth year, Edward Jones was named one of the 'best companies to work for' in America by Fortune Magazine in its annual listing. The firm took the fourth spot overall in the ranking and was named the number two spot for large companies."

While Eastman-Liddle plans to leave her position at the end of March, she said she plans to keep her home in Williams and offered her appreciation to everyone in the city and elsewhere whom she has worked with over the years.

"My last day will be March 27," Eastman-Liddle said in the e-mail. "I have many things to be so thankful for, and I cannot say enough positive things about all of you. Thank you for all your support throughout these past eight years, and I will always be one of Williams' greatest fans. Dean and I plan to keep our home here, so we will continue to be a part of the community."

Eastman-Liddle said she was excited to be a part of the country's efforts to rebuild its financial structure in this time of economic crisis.

"I hope to be ready for the challenge by the beginning of next year. Again, it has been my privilege to serve this chamber and community. I look forward to always finding ways to keep connected," Eastman-Liddle said in the recent e-mail.
