The January Students of the Month were recently announced. Here are the reasons why these students were selected for this honor:

Kindergarten, Wade Gutshall - Wade is a student who always tries his best in his work and always tries to do the right thing in his behavior. He is very respectful to others and a friend to all. Wade is a pleasure to have in class.

First grade, Jovanny Martinez - Jovanny was selected because he has shown rema rkable improvement in both behavior and academics. He has improved in reading and has increased his high frequency words. He has also improved his number sense in math. He completes his homework every night and is rarely absent. He gets along well with others and is willing to help them find the right page or missing materials. He has kept his sign on sunshine the entire second quarter. Way to go, Jovanny!

Second grade, Nancy Leon - She has excellent attendance and academic achievement. She is respectful and helpful to adults and peers. Nancy does brighten up the day with her great smile and positive attitude. She is a joy to have in class.

Third grade, Athena Kennelly - She is always respectful and responsible. She follows the six pillars of character.

Fourth grade, Miranda Mayer - She is a very diligent student who strives to do her best in her schoolwork. She is a positive role model to her peers and is always willing to help her fellow students with their schoolwork if they need just the little extra bit of help to understand something.

Fifth grade, Andrea Hernandez - Andrea has demonstrated the six pillars of character all year long. She is caring, kind, helpful, considerate, and very responsible.

Middle school, John Herrin - John has always been a person of excellent character, always respectful and well mannered. He is extremely helpful, willing to do anything to help a fellow student or teacher. He is a positive role model for his classmates and our school.
