Letter: Free Opry Night June 26
To the editor:
The people in our community are really brave. Over 100 people came to the Grand Opry Night in one of the worse freak snowstorms. It began around 4 p.m. when the Kiwanis were serving their spaghetti dinner. It was a night to remember.
Those attending had a positive attitude and were calm during the loss of electricity. They used the time to visit with friends. The only complaint was the building was cold. The heaters as well as the lights were off most of the evening. The musicians had a few acoustic guitars so they provided music while we decided what to do.
Special thanks goes to Danny Harness for providing a generator. That made it possible to see during the cakewalk and raffles.
Habitat for Humanity was so impressed with the crowd sticking around that they are going to sponsor a free Grand Opry Night June 26. Watch the News for more details.
