Low cost rabies clinic offered April 5

The Williams Animal Action Group will offer their 23rd Annual WAAG Rabies Vaccination Clinic noon-3 p.m. April 5 at the Bob Dean Rodeo Grounds barn.

Here are the shots your pet needs to have every year -

• Dogs - Distemper, parvo, adeno, parainfluenza and bordatella (kennel cough), a six month vaccine nasal spray.

• Cats - Distemper, rhino, calici and leukemia.

The rabies vaccinations have a different schedule. The first rabies shot a cat or dog receives is good for only one year. The following vaccinations for rabies are good for three years. Please check your rabies vaccination certificate for expiration dates. Bring those certificates with you when you come to the WAAG Clinic.

The city of Williams will be on hand to provide city dog licenses. Spayed and neutered dogs get a discounted, $10 tag. Fertile dogs require a $20 fee. Bring proof of surgery.

Remember, only healthy pets can be vaccinated. Do not bring any sick pets as Dr. Baker will be unable to examine these at the clinic.

All dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in pet carriers. WAAG will have these to lend out.
