Letter: Remembering Christmas
To the editor:
I've been blessed to be from Williams all my life. Last Friday night I had the opportunity to take a seven-year-old girl to the tree lighting ceremony. I've actually attended four or five years, but I didn't see it through the eyes of a child.
The ceremony presentation just tantalized all the children in the crowd. Thank you. It brought my own childhood memories of the tree lighting in Williams. My best friend and I would sit at the football field in anticipation of Christmas to start.
After the ceremony this year walking home, I shared my feelings with my seven-year-old friend of a small town Christmas. By the way, our tree was lit up on High School Hill. It was a beautiful sight. As we turned the corner, I pointed to my tree and said, "It's right there."
It wasn't. Shame on you, Williams.
