Library to re-open Oct. 18

The Williams Public Library will celebrate a grand re-opening 12-8 p.m. Oct. 18. Librarian Andrea Dunn encourages everyone to celebrate, while enjoying the library's new look.

The library is located at city hall, 113 S. First St.

Inspire Mentoring in Williams

A mentoring training will be held Saturday in Williams. The Inspire Mentoring program is currently seeking individuals to act as role models, share life experiences, learn about today's youth and get involved in the community's youth. The mentoring program is offered in collaboration with the Coconino County Juvenile Court Services, the Williams Alliance and Inspiration Gallery and Gifts.

Flu shots now available

Flu shots are now available by appointment at the Williams Health Care Center, 301 S. Seventh St.

The Coconino County Health Department will also be offering flu shots for $20 in Williams tomorrow. Two clinics will be offered. Shots can be obtained 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Williams Senior Center, 850 W. Grant Ave. and from 2-4 p.m. at the Williams Elementary-Middle School, 601 N. Seventh St.

Make memories for the holidays

A family scrap-booking project is offered free from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at the Williams Elementary-Middle School cafeteria, 601 N. Seventh St. This opportunity is sponsored by the 21st Century Community Learning Center.

Make memories for the holidays with loved ones. Adults must bring at least one child with them to work together on a project.

Historical Society meets Oct. 23

The Williams Historical Society will hold their regular meeting Oct. 23 at the Williams Public Library. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend and new members are always welcome.

Open gym offered in Parks

All youth grades 7-12 are encouraged to attend open gym from 6:30-9 p.m. on Saturdays at the Maine School Gym. There is no charge to attend.

Park ribbon cutting today

A ribbon cutting ceremony at the Williams Tot Park will begin at 2 p.m. today. The park is located at 310 W. Sherman Ave.

The ceremony will officially open the park to the public. The city of Williams and Northern Arizona Council of Governments Head Start recently renovated the park.
