Kaibab National Forest end restrictions today
Fire restrictions are expected to be lifted today at 8 a.m.
Due to recent rains, managers of the Kaibab National Forest plan to lift all fire restrictions at 8 a.m. Wednesday (July 25).
The entire Kaibab National Forest is open to public use. As of 8 a.m. Wednesday, no fire restrictions will be in effect. Also due to recent precipitation, the Tonto National Forest plans to lift fire restrictions at 8 a.m. Thursday (July 26).
"We have received enough rain forestwide to lift all fire restrictions," said Russ Truman, assistant fire management officer for the Kaibab National Forest.
"That doesn't mean people should be careless with fire. Everyone should ensure that they properly extinguish their campfires and use ashtrays for their cigarettes."
