The News is all about YOU!

Every Wednesday morning the Williams-Grand Canyon News hits the streets by 6 a.m. We are proud to produce a product that informs the community and surrounding areas of what is going on in our region. Unlike larger daily newspapers you will find local news generated by you. Inside this tiny paper you will find out who is getting married, who has a new baby, weekly events and meetings offered, honor roll status students and letters to the editor expressing your opinions and views. Sports, church news, senior and school menus and a community event calendar are consistently offered.

If you are not seeing news about your club's activities or your event is not listed on the calendar it is likely that no one called us. At this time, we are revamping our event calendar located on Page 2A. If you have an event or meeting that is no longer happening please let us know. If your event or meeting is not listed and you want folks to know about it, please let us know by calling community reporter Patrick Whitehurst at (928) 635-4426. Our fax number is (928) 635-4887 and Patrick can also be reached via e-mail at pwhitehurst@williamsnews.com. If we are not sure events and meetings are listed correctly, we have no choice but to remove them. Your communication is crucial at this time.

The News staff is always on the lookout for story ideas and welcomes readers' tips. While anonymous tips are frequent, they are not taken seriously - especially when these tips are condescending and/or slanderous in nature. It is our job to create accurate stories. Therefore if we are not certain a portion of a story is correct or cannot be confirmed, that portion is removed. We have one chance each week to inform readers of goings-on. It would be irresponsible to push a story into print prior to confirming that all contents are correct.

Portions of the Williams-Grand Canyon News can be read online at

www.williamsnews.com. Our Web site has been revamped and now online readers can post comments in reference to all stories that appear on the site. We encourage you to participate online by responding to our poll questions and posting your comments.

This is your newspaper. We appreciate your contributions, ideas and comments. We look forward to writing about you and taking your photographs in the future. Thank you for allowing us inside your home each week. It's our pleasure to serve you.
