Justin Jeffries, a sailor for Uncle Sam, was in the thick of things in the far east for several months but had to return to the states to be hospitalized. Jeffries was in Hong Kong just before it fell, he was cruising just off Singapore when that place fell, he was on Bataan just before the invasion of Luzon and was just a jump ahead in a number of other hot spots. He went into the oil-surfaced ocean when his ship went out from under him and then, while riding a troop train in quiet and peaceful Arizona, he became ill and was removed from the train at Williams and placed in the Williams Hospital, where he is scheduled for a week or 10 days of medical attention.

She returned home Sunday with a pair of bruised legs as the result of working out for the April 28 Flagstaff College rodeo. Peggy was working her horse out for the barrel race and the horse was leaning a little close to the barrels in making his turns.
