Become part of the News' latest grad tab keepsake

May 26 is a big day for the Williams High School Class of 2006. A day many have longed for will finally be here ‹ graduation day. On that day, graduating students will clean out their lockers for the last time as they leave high school to become whatever they have planned to be.

Our youth are important in our small community. We want to wish them the best and provide them with something that not all WHS graduating classes have had. For the second year, the News will create a separate and special publication honoring our grads. As you read this, we are creating something that we hope will be a keepsake for grads and their families for many years to come. The grad tab will be included in the May 24 edition of the News.

The grad tab will contain a class photo of the students along with their future plans and favorite memories of WHS. We will also include photos from throughout the year showing the Vikings at their best. Parents and friends of the Class of 2006 will have an opportunity to be part of this keepsake by purchasing ads letting their students know how proud they are of them. Businesses and anyone who wants to wish the grads well is invited to purchase space in the grad tab. Call Connie at (928) 635-4426 for more information.

Remember that a high school graduation is a one-time event that can never be duplicated. It's not all about the ceremony or the presents. The event is significant in that it marks the passing of one's life into the next phase. Upon graduation, your future is in your hands. Nobody can tell you how, when and where your life can go unless you allow it.

As a 2006 high school graduate, please remember that there is much more in this world than what now sits before you. Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way. If you are leaving Williams for a higher education, to join the military, or to attend trade school, remember your youth here fondly. However, never make the mistake of accepting the myth that high school was the best time of your life. You can never go back. Please remember that when you are far away and your footing is unsure. Never look back and wish for what was. Don't give up and come home for good until your mission is complete.

Remember where you came from and all the people in your tiny community that are rooting loudly for you. And no matter what comes your way, never give up. With that said, we wish you only the best, WHS Class of 2006.
