Williams Fire department golf tourney this weekend
Annual tourney gets equipment to area residents
Mark Saturday on your calendar for the Williams Volunteer Fire Department's Fifth Annual Fire Prevention Golf Tournament.
The event takes place at the Elephant Rocks Golf Course with an 8 a.m. four-man scramble shotgun start. That means it's teams only with mulligans for sale and a steak lunch for all participants after the tourney.
As in years past, proceeds will benefit the WVFD Fire Prevention Program ‹ a project started by the WVFD that delivers free smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and carbon monoxide detectors to residents within the city limits that need them.
Numerous prizes will be awarded during and after the tournament, such as an $8,000 Polaris ATV with trailer from Flagstaff Motorsports for whoever gets the first hole-in-one on the 18th, or $100 and a trip to Laughlin for closest-to-the-pin on the 14th hole. Additional prizes will be raffled off immediately following the event.
The fun continues with the traditional dance at the World Famous Sultana Bar after the tournament.
