Williams Little League Scrappers player Skylar Nowell, No. 14, sends one out at the first opening game of the season in Williams April 22

Williams Little League action began April 22 with the opening games for the majors category.

The first game saw the Williams Storm winning over the Williams Scrappers, 3-0. The second game featured the Williams Wildcats against the Parks Pirates with the Wildcats on top 12-0.

The Seligman and Ash Fork teams then each played against Grand Canyon.

The Storm played Ash Fork yesterday, the Scrappers will face off against the Wildcats today and the Pirates will go against Ash Fork Friday. Four games will once again be played at Cureton Park starting at 9 a.m. Saturday. Those include Ash Fork vs. Seligman, Pirates vs. Scrappers, Wildcats vs. Grand Canyon, and Storm vs. Grand Canyon.

The Williams Scrappers includes players Kendall Brown, Brent Perkins, Rafael Duran, Garret Pettit, Joey Hudson, Andrew Hodges, Jimmy Perkins, Colton Baxter, Wesley Perkins, Skylar Nowell, and Carlos Amavizca. Coaches are Kelly Hodges and Keith Perkins and the manager is Kevin Perkins.

The Williams Storm features manager Tanner Grantham, coaches Bill Curry and Herman Nixon and players Adrian Solano, Colton Grantham, Edgar Duran, Ivan Ruiz, Alexis Soto, JP Berry, Leo Lopez, JD Schulte, Robert Bliss, Thomas Sanders, Johnson Curry, and Kohl Nixon.

The Williams Wildcats are managed by Edgar Brown, coached by Jeff Brownlee and Chris Dennison, and includes players Austin Brandt, Coty Baxter, Jorge Martinez, Cody Dick, Bubba Brown, Jeff Brownlee, Trenton Lilly, Christian Campos, Sam Butler, Dillon Mace, Mychal Dennison, and Jordan Brown.

Meanwhile, the final day for sign-ups to the minors category ‹ 7-11 year-olds ‹ and T-Ball for ages four and a half to eight will be this Friday. Cut-off time is 4 p.m. and those interested can sign up at Preferred Equipment Rental on Grand Canyon Boulevard across from Cureton Park. Tryouts for minors will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at Cureton Park.
