County opens area for disposal of yard waste<br>
On June 19, July 17, Aug. 21, and Sept. 18, County residents can deposit natural forest debris such as tree limbs and pine needles at Moonset Pit, a cinder pit located on National Forest just west of the Parks community off old Route 66. Parks-Bellemont and Sherwood Forest Estates volunteer fire department personnel will staff the pit from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in order to ensure that only authorized materials are deposited. The materials do not need to be bagged.
“The residents of Parks and Sherwood Forest Estates owe a big thanks to their volunteer fire departments,” said Joe Reinarz, fire management officer for the Williams and Tusayan districts of the Kaibab National Forest.
