Sheriff’s Office<br>searching for boy

TUSAYAN — The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office continued the search for a 13-year-old Tusayan boy who disappeared on June 29.

Justin Richardson has been missing since June 29.

Justin Richardson was last seen during the morning hours of June 29 in an area of Kaibab National Forest west of Moqui Lodge and south of Grand Can-yon National Park.

The sheriff’s office began an investigation into the boy’s disappearance on the afternoon of July 1. He was reported to have last been with friends west of the lodge, where his father works.

Jim Coffey of the county’s Grand Canyon substation said Sunday that a widespread search of the area began Saturday morning and continued all weekend. Coffey said all investigative leads are being followed.

A search’s base camp was set up at Coconino Siding and included members of the sheriff’s office search and rescue team, sheriff’s office mounted units, members of the Navajo County search and rescue team and Grand Canyon National Park.

The search included dogs along with family members of Richardson.

As of newspaper presstime, the boy had not been found. The sheriff’s office needs the public’s assistance with any information on Richardson’s whereabouts.

Richardson is 4-foot-11, 110 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair shaved on the sides and long on top.
