Middle-school girls<br>down Parks Maine

GCNP — The Grand Canyon Middle School girls basketball team lost two of three games Saturday in home matchups with Ash Fork and Parks Maine.

The middle-school Phantoms downed Parks but then lost to Ash Fork by scores of 20-4 and 19-18.

In the one-point contest, Ash Fork scored to go ahead in the final minute of play.

Samantha Stickler was a force in the middle vs. Ash Fork with inside baskets and rebounding. Adrian Keebahe was another standout player with her defensive intensity and offensive output.

Two weeks ago, Grand Canyon opened the season with two other losses to Ash Fork and a setback to Seligman.

In A- and B-team games combined, Grand Canyon now has a 1-5 record.

Grand Canyon will not play this week due to the holiday weekend. The next games will be Dec. 2, also at home, when Grand Canyon hosts Seligman.
