Officials at the Williams Post Office remind everyone that on May 8, a food drive will be held. Mail carriers will pick up non-perishable food items from mailboxes throughout the day. All food will remain in Williams and will be distributed by the Williams Food Bank. Studio 9 is having a raffle featuring a basket of products worth $200. A portion of the proceeds will be given to the food bank. The drawing is May 9.

A bake sale will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the American Legion, 425 W. Grant Ave.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to raise money to pay funeral expenses for the family of Sebastian Morris. Any and all donations are appreciated. Baked goods can be left at the legion.

• C. H. Bradford of Winslow suffered a broken arm and other injuries on Wednesday when he fell from a freight train caboose in the local Santa Fe yards. The sudden jerk of the train in starting presumably caused him to lose his balance.
