Kids art class at Old Trails June 13

Williams Alliance for the Arts along with Old Trails True Value Hardware is sponsoring a watercolor workshop June 13 from 1- 2:30 p.m.

Registration for the event should be made at Old Trails by June 11. The workshop is offered to children from four to 12 years old. Parents/guardians are welcome. All supplies will be furnished. The event is free with a donation for the building fund for the Williams Alliance for the Arts class, which will be taught by Bonnie Dent.

The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 12128 will place a memorial wreath on the veteran statue in Monument Park May 23 at 9:30 a.m.

The Post 12128 Honor Guard will present a gun salute and play taps. Everyone is invited to attend.

The Williams Rotary Club is preparing for the upcoming second annual teen defensive driving class. The class is open to all teens with or without a driver's permit or license. Around Williams: Week of April 28, 2010
Officials at the Williams Post Office remind everyone that on May 8, a food drive will be held. Mail carriers will pick up non-perishable food items from mailboxes throughout the day. All food will remain in Williams and will be distributed by the Williams Food Bank. Studio 9 is having a raffle featuring a basket of products worth $200. A portion of the proceeds will be given to the food bank. The drawing is May 9.

A bake sale will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the American Legion, 425 W. Grant Ave.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to raise money to pay funeral expenses for the family of Sebastian Morris. Any and all donations are appreciated. Baked goods can be left at the legion.
