Neighbors Helping Neighbors Halloween Bash Oct. 26

Neighbors Helping Neighbors will put on a Halloween Bash, Costume Contest and Chili Cook-off at the Sultana Theater Oct. 26 at 7 p.m.

Those interested in entering the chili cook off can contact Traci Fulkerson at (928) 635-5392 by Oct. 19 for more information.

Widest buck contest on now at The Outdoor Store

The Big Buck Contest and raffle is open to all units south of Grand Canyon. The hunter to score the widest buck (outside to outside) will win a new Diamond bow.

The entry fee is $15. The contest ends Jan. 31 and the drawing takes place Feb. 1 at the Outdoor Store.

Basketball is back at the Williams Rec Center

The Williams Recreation Center will offer two free recreational opportunities. Basketball for high school age students and adults takes place from 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays at the Williams-Elementary Middle School (WEMS) gym. The program will go until May 14.

Open Gym for eighth grade students and younger featuring basketball, dodgeball and volleyball takes place Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. at the WEMS gym. The program will go until May 15.

Kiwanis cord of wood raffle tickets available

Williams Kiwanis is raffling off a cord of wood with the proceeds to benefit youth scholarships.

Tickets are $5 or five for $20 and are available at the Williams Rec Center, Superior Propane and at most community events.

Williams High School Blood Drive Oct. 30 and 31

Williams High School is putting on a Halloween community blood drive. People may donate on Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the high school gym, 440 S. Seventh St. More information is available at 1-877-827-4376 or www.bloodhero.com, sponsor code williamshs.

SAVE-MTR Raffle on through Oct. 30

SAVE-Meant to Rescue (MTR) is putting on a fall raffle until Oct. 30 to benefit the rescue dogs. Tickets are five for $10 and are available from SAVE-MTR members or at Many Tails Pet Grooming, 402 Route 66. More information is available from Robynn at (928) 635-4726.

Senior Thrift Store sale every second Thursday

The Senior Center Thrift Store will have a sale every second Thursday of each month. Books are 10 cents and shoes are 25 cents to $3.

Spooktacular Chamber mixer Oct. 25

The Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will put on a networking night "spooktackular" mixer Oct. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Café 326, 326 W. Route 66. The mixer will benefit the Bill Williams Senior Meals on Wheels Program. The event will include appetizers and raffle prizes. Attendees are encouraged to dress up and compete in the costume contest for prizes. More information is available from the Chamber at (928) 635-0273.

The 46th issue of the Williams Lions Club Community Birthday Calendar is available. Calendars are available by contacting any club member or by calling Denis Kirkley at (928) 635-9366.
