3/23/2010 2:20:00 PM Letter: Friends fondly remember man
To the editor:
We wish Godspeed to Herb Arnberger who, though battling cancer, said he'd lived a full life. He was always concerned for his Valley family and spoke so lovingly of his grandchildren.
Local friends enjoyed hearing stories of Air Force life and of Herb's fellow veterans. He considered his dogs Ulee and Max as his "greatest companions and loyal pals." These fine rescued canines were with him to the end.
He often said nature was God's greatest work and the outdoors was his church. Many first met Mr. Arnberger while walking a forest or local path or when he enthusiastically volunteered in the community.
Herb expressed how deeply he appreciated Michael and Leslie Cohen's great help during his illness. Folks in Williams and Garland Prairie will fondly remember a mutual friend.
