4/29/2014 10:43:00 AM Letter: Ladies Auxiliary could dissolve without member help
To the editor:
This letter is to all members of the Ladies Auxiliary. My name is Marystella Riojas and I have been the Auxiliary President for the past four years. I am reaching out to our members.
Once again we are in danger of losing our auxiliary for the last and final time. I know that all of you have busy lives and I have tried in the past to get things rolling. I have invited you to our monthly meeting without much avail.
I know in my heart that many of you care about our vets who gave all in the wars. My pet project has always been to help those veterans who need us now. A good example is the veterans in the VA hospitals. We also do other projects like Girls State and community events.
I notice that many of you ladies are always helping with other organizations and I applaud you. But let us not forget why we joined the auxiliary-it was because of the veterans.
I currently need help with our officer positions. Our dedication to the cause needs to be affirmed by everyone committing to fulfilling the obligations of being an American Legion Ladies Auxiliary member. If any of our members want to step forward to help create a new officers group please step forward and help. You can contact me most anytime at (928) 856-1888.
Please remember why you joined and don't let any old history hold you back in that is the problem. Please call me by May 15 or sooner with your deliberations or decisions. The commitment of our nation's brightest for our behalf and defense is worthy of honor by all us citizens that enjoy the freedoms given to us and brought by these brave young men and women of our nation's military.
If I don't hear from you we will notify all members about the outcome. I appreciate all those of you who have helped and I know that it can be a hardship for some. I really feel that our veterans and future veterans are worth it. Thank you for your time in reading this letter.
