Letter: Reader responds to online poll

To the editor:

In reference to a recent online poll asking what would you do if you found a wallet, I'm glad you want an answer to such a question. Yes, I found a wallet. It was bulging with money. I took it home and counted $250. I got nervous and didn't want to look any further. I needed a name.

I found the name of the person in the cards that were in the wallet. I looked for the name I had found in the telephone book to no avail. I looked further and found a bank receipt here in Williams. I proceeded to call the bank. They in turn asked me to bring the wallet in and they would take care of it. Needless to say, I wanted to turn it over to the person myself. I wanted to make sure the person losing this wallet would get it back as lost and found.

I decided to go to the police station. I showed the policeman the wallet. He said he would take care of it. He asked for my name and phone number. I would no doubt be hearing from the owner. To this date I have never heard from the person that lost said wallet.
