Editorial: Valentines Day is around the corner. Who loves ya?
Williams-Grand Canyon News

Valentines Day. You either love it or hate it. For some, the day serves as a reminder to say 'I love you' to someone important. For others, the day feels like an obligation. Like a forced display of affection.

Probably the best way to look at the "holiday" is as a reminder to value the people in our lives we couldn't live without.

It's easy to take people for granted. Jeff Yalden, a motivational speaker and coach on MTV's show "Made" visited with Williams High School and Middle School students last week in an assembly that lasted an hour and a half. His message kept the students on the edge of their seats. And it was a simple message. Value those around you. Tell them you love them. Be grateful for the life you're given.

As simple as that messege is, it is easy to do just the opposite. How often do we tell the people in our lives that we care about that we care about them? Probably not often enough.

Who do you care about? Who is the love of your life and why? How did you meet? Send us your love story for our Valentines Day edition on Feb. 13. Submissions should be no longer than 200 words. Please email your submission by Feb. 7 to editorial@williamsnews.com.
