Guest column: New Year, new resolutions
Chamber chat
Gioia Goodrum
Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce president and CEO

A New Year is upon us and that always means resolutions. Do you have a fitness, health, spiritual, or other personal resolution for 2013? What about business? Many forget to make resolutions for their professional growth.

We recommend adding the Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce to your business resolution for 2013. Why you ask? The benefits of membership are many.

The Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce is your Chamber of Commerce. We offer benefits and opportunities for you - the business community. When you attend a Chamber Mixer, you increase the exposure for you and your business by networking and sharing ideas, creating a buzz about what you offer, and becoming aware of needs, challenges, concerns, or where your business can offer support.

How do you join the Chamber of Commerce? It's easy. You can simply stop by the office and visit with us at 200 W. Railroad Ave., download the application online at www.williamschamber.org, or ask us to email you additional information by connecting with us at info@williamschamber.com.

By joining the Chamber of Commerce you will receive special updates, have the Chamber logo to use on your website or other collateral, provide us with your content so we can promote your business to locals and visitors in person and online, and benefit from referrals. At the Chamber of Commerce we refer our members first and you will be a recommendation by our staff!

If you are a member, it's the right time to ask yourself, am I making the most of my Chamber membership? Contact us to be sure we have your correct contact information, add additional employees to our database and email contact database. If you have a special or offer for locals and/or visitors, let us know and we will share with our membership database.

Coming in 2013, we will be offering educational seminars and discussions for our members. A fee may apply to non-members - another benefit of being a member. We are always on the look out for the best networking, and educational opportunities to share with the business community and we will look forward to sharing what we have to offer in this monthly column.

The Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce is in the community to fuel the local economy. We are a unique Chamber of Commerce in that we operate a Visitor Center, focus on local business development and handle destination marketing for our beautiful community to encourage more and more visitors to come each year.

Our goal is simple - to fuel our local economy and provide you, our businesses, with the best opportunity for profitability and advancement. We wish you and your business a successful 2013 and a healthy new resolution: join the Chamber of Commerce or maximize your existing membership by taking advantage of what we have to offer.
