Letter: Local breakfast spot a blessing

To the editor:

We've lived in Williams for a year. Even though we built our home in 2006 and had visited on the weekends for many years, we are still discovering the hidden treasures of Williams. One of them, (maybe not so hidden) is the Grand Canyon Cafe downtown across the street from the Canyon Club.

Every Saturday morning at 6:30 we "leash" up with our 2-year-old shepherd, Sierra, and walk downtown to experience the absolute best breakfast and friendliest town spirit there is. We sit down at one of the tables outside and watch as the businesses get ready for their day.

So what are we greeted with? A very pet friendly environment, (yeah, Sierra gets a plate and shares our breakfast) along with smiles, good service, excellently, fresh cooked food and an "Amen" from the server when she's respectfully waiting for us to finish grace so she can refill our coffee cups. Then there's Buck, the resident cowboy who gladly gives our dog her well-deserved milk bone. Throw in several out-of-town visitors who happily greet us as they pour into the restaurant and you know you're being blessed.

So, if you wake up in the morning and have a hankering for some delicious food with genuinely outstanding service, try the Grand Canyon Cafe. I'm sure you'll give it an "Amen."

Al and PJ Messimer

Williams, Ariz.
