Ramona Otillia Sanchez Otero, 80, of Jarales, N.M., loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend went home to be with the Lord with open arms December 16, 2012.

Ramona was born January 11, 1932 to Valentino and Amelia Sanchez of Flagstaff, Ariz. She was the tenth of 10 children.

Ramona married Joe H. Otero on November 14, 1954 and together they had nine children: Joanne and Harold Harter of Jarales, Gabriel Otero of Williams, Robert and Tammy Otero of Tonopah, Nev., George and Marie Otero of Williams, Margaret Lutts of Williams, Juanita Lutts of Williams, Rosalie and Sam Espinoza of Williams, Joe Otero of Williams and Ramona and Miguel Mercado of Ashfork, Ariz.

She is survived by 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters, one son baby Joe and husband Joe H. Otero.

Her favorite pastimes were watching sports, cooking and spending time with friends, but her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was an amazing gift that God had bestowed upon us. We were fortunate for her to have been part of our lives and no words can ever express how much we will miss her.

Services will be held on Friday, Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest at the Williams Cemetery, reception will follow at the American Legion. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers for donations to be made to the American Legion Cordova Post No. 13.
