Police Log: Week of March 13
Williams-Grand Canyon News


The Williams Police Department answered the following calls for service -

• Officers responded to a shoplifting incident on Route 66;

• Officers took a report of theft of firewood on Locust;

• Officers responded to an alarm on Grant Ave.;

• Officers responded to a mental health related disturbance at Clover Hill;

• Officers responded to a disturbance at a local hotel and removed those involved;

• Officers removed a transient person causing a disturbance from Denny's;

• Officers responded to a suspicious person on Sheridan Ave.;

• Officers responded to harassment on Grand Canyon Blvd.;

• Officers took an assault report on Route 66;

• Officers took a report of criminal damage after tagging occured at several locations around town;

• Officers investigated a non-injury accident on Route 66 and Rodeo Rd.;

• Officers took a report of a vicious dog on Wells Fargo;

• Officers dealt with a juvenile issue on Seventh St.;

• Officers responded to a disturbance at local hotel. A guest was unhappy with a room;

• Officers responded to a suspicious person on Sheridan Ave.;

• Officers responded to several dog calls;

• Officers assisted Lifeline at several locations;

• Officers dealt with snow issues and slide offs;

• Officers assisted the Williams Fire Department with a dumpster fire at a city parking lot;

• Officers responded to a disturbance at an RV park and arrested a woman for trespassing;

• Officers responded to a disturbance on Fulton Ave. and separated two intoxicated people;

• Officers responded to a suspicious male at Safeway;

• Officers responded to an alarm on Route 66;

• Officers investigated a non-injury accident on Third St.;

• Officers responded to a noise complaint on Edison;

• Offices took a theft report on Grant Ave.;

• Officers arrested a man for theft and check forgery;

• Officers issued 1 citation and gave out 9 warnings.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the WPD at (928) 635-4461. Anonymous tips can be left at any time at (928) 635-5992. Those who want to report a crime while remaining anonymous, can also call Silent Witness at (928) 774-6111 or (877) 29-CRIME. Silent Witness offers rewards of as much as $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
