WILLIAMS, Ariz. - The Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce is hosting its biggest mixer of the year Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Forest Service Visitor's Center.

Gioia Goodrum, chamber president and CEO, is calling her organization's annual holiday mixer a "celebration of Williams, the holidays and the end of the year." She said the entire community is invited including all members and non-members.

"It's a way for us here at the chamber to say thank you to our community for their support, and for people who have never come in to this building to come see it. It's over 100 years old and a nice piece of history here in Williams," said Goodrum. "The mixer is here in our chamber office, in the Visitor's Center, throughout the whole building."

Chamber members, board members and staff will provide food for guests. Goodrum said there will be appetizers, desserts, snacks and plenty to nosh on. Grand Canyon Brewery is sponsoring the beer, Grand Canyon Winery is supplying wine and Coca-Cola is sponsoring the soft drinks.

"Grand Canyon Brewery has actually sponsored all of our mixers this year," Goodrum said.

Goodrum and her staff have cleaned and prepared their office for the mixer and decorated the inside and outside of the building for the holidays. Heritage Elementary students decorated the live tree, hand-picked by Forest Service staff, inside the Visitor's Center Nov. 30.

Just like all chamber mixers, a raffle will take place during Friday's final mixer of the year. Raffle prizes include wine, a package from the Grand Canyon Railway including a one-night stay, Taste of Williams wine glasses, Coconino Community College certificates to attend non-credit courses and Arizona Diamondbacks apparel.

"It's going to be a very nice event, it's our biggest event of the year," Goodrum said. "The whole community is invited, we encourage everyone to come."

Chamber officials will give out Mountain Village Holiday Parade of Lights awards as well as residential and business lighting contest awards.

The theme for this year's lighting contest is "T'was the night before Christmas."

Proceeds from this month's chamber mixer will go to the Salvation Army.

The Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce and Kaibab National Forest Service Visitor's Center is at 200 W. Railroad Ave. Additional information is available by contacting the chamber at (928) 635-0273 or visiting
